Congratulations to the 2008 Recruiting Excellence Award Winners

The winners of the 2008 Recruiting Excellence Awards were announced earlier this week at a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony at the ERE Expo 2008 Spring Conference and Exhibition.

Recognizing excellence in corporate recruiting, the Recruiting Excellence Awards acknowledged nine categories, ranging from Best Employer Brand to Most Innovative Use of Recruitment Technology to Recruiting Department/Function of the Year.

The ceremony and dinner was sponsored by Monster, the leading online global careers network, and hosted by Neal Bruce, vice president of alliances for Monster.

This is the fourth annual Recruiting Excellence Awards ceremony, which each year kicks off the ERE Expo spring conference, the leading recruitment and talent management event for the industry.

"This year's judges had tougher decisions than they ever had. With more companies doing cutting-edge recruiting programs, recruiting is gaining more influence in their corporations," said David Manaster, CEO of ERE Media. "It's really amazing what winners and finalists have done to attract and keep people, which is one of the major challenges facing corporations today."

Intuit picked up top honors for Best Recruiting Department/Function of the Year. The Mountain View, California-based software company was also a finalist in four other categories.

"This award means a lot to the Intuit Talent Acquisition team because it really validates the great work we've been doing," said Traci Wicks, Intuit's Candidate Generation Leader. "Intuit Talent Acquisition is so focused on the future of the company -- from what talent we recruit to how we recruit them. This award will open doors for us to talk to other great recruiting teams and share learnings together."

Other awards presented at the evening ceremony went to Sodexo (Best Diversity Program), KPMG (Best Corporate Careers Web Site), and Ernst & Young (Best Employer Brand & Best College Recruiting Program), among others.
